Muddy Waters

McKinley Morganfield--alias Muddy Waters--took the blues from the Mississippi delta to Chicago and plugged it in to become the father of electric blues. A prolific artist, he wrote and recorded for several decades, riding the ups and downs of various blues crazes. Muddy possessed such an innate dignity and inner peace, that Eric Clapton remarked that to know him was like knowing Buddha.
